Basics Of Continental Knitting - Session 1

Basics Of Continental Knitting - Session 1
    $25.00

    Dates/Time:
Thursday morning, Feb. 14 from 9:00-11:00 am

    Duration:
    One 2-hour class

    Skills Learned:
Learn the basics of continental knitting, a technique which involves holding your working yarn in the left hand as opposed to “English-style” in which you throw the yarn with the right hand. For some knitters, continental is the everyday knitting preference, and for knitters who normally knit English, being able to knit both ways is a valuable skill for certain knitting techniques, such as stranded colorwork.   Continental is also commonly considered to be a faster knitting technique.

    Prerequisites:
    Must
be competent to independently cast-on, knit, purl, bind-off

    Included:
    2 hours of instruction

    Additional Info:
Bring stash yarn in bulky or worsted weight to practice this technique and your own single-point or circular needles in the correct size for the yarn (not included but available for purchase)

    Instructor:
    Aldona Shumway
