    Dates/Time:
    Saturday Afternoons, Jan. 20 & 27, Feb. 3 from 1:00-3:00 pm

    Duration:
3 classes, each class is 2 hours

    Skills Learned:
In this class you will learn how to cast-on, knit, purl, bind-off and learn to recognize stitches. You will also learn the stockinette, ribbing and garter stitch patterns and practice these while gaining confidence with your knitting. In addition to The Basics pattern you will receive in class, additional patterns for simple projects to continue practicing on your own will be made available to all participants.

All materials are included in the class price (see details below).  It is our philosophy that classes for beginners should include everything you need to get going on your knitting journey.

This class is designed for completely new knitters.  But, it is also great for knitters coming back to it after time away, as well as for those who may want to solidify their skills in a structured class environment.  There are a maximum of 6 students per class.

    Prerequisites:
    None

    Included:
Needles, yarn, The Basics knitting pattern from Elizabeth Smith, a Mother of Purl zippered project bag and 6 hours of instruction.  All class participants will receive 20% off any purchase on class days.

    Additional Info:
We strongly encourage practice between classes.

    Instructor:
Kristina Truesdale - Kristina, who has been knitting for over 37 years, has taught adults and children how to knit in formal and informal classes over the years.  Kristina loves to share the joy of knitting and believes in its healing power. Her philosophy is that craft is all about the process and therein lies the beauty.  We think you'll enjoy her personal approach to teaching knitting.
